RE:             Call for Nominations - 2022-23 Teaching Awards

It is our pleasure to review the growing list of faculty members honored for their outstanding contribution to our educational programs, particularly in the training of medical students and house staff. These individuals demonstrate commitment to excellence, generously dedicate their time and expertise to our students, and play a key role in achieving our ranking amongst the best institutions of higher learning in the United States.

As our faculty continues to grow and develop, this list is naturally incomplete, so on behalf of the Teaching Awards Selection Committee, we are happy to announce the call for nominations for the 2022-2023 teaching awards. Candidates may be nominated by faculty, house staff, and students, and nominations will be reviewed by the Teaching Awards Selection Committee comprised of faculty and students.

Award descriptions, the nomination form, and a list of past award recipients can be found at https://upenn.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_doH5YeADzsFNwEK. Nominations must be submitted electronically and are due no later than July 18, 2022.

If a nominee is selected to advance in the review process, the nominee’s department chair will be contacted in November and asked to serve as the nominee’s sponsor. Sponsorship includes preparing and submitting, electronically, a dossier to the Teaching Awards Selection Committee. The dossier must include commendatory letters from students and colleagues and will be strengthened by the inclusion of teaching evaluation data and educational materials developed by the nominee. An electronic copy of the dossier will be due in January and winners will be announced in April of 2023.
