DBEI and CCEB Research Day: April 10

Using the MyHeart Counts app, Michael V. McConnell, MD, MSEE, and his team enrolled more than 47,000 participants within six months to capture real-time measurement of their physical activity. Register to join us April 10 for Dr. McConnell's lecture and highlights of our work in biostatistics, epidemiology and informatics: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smilow Center for Translational Research, 3400 Civic Center Blvd. A joint project of the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Informatics and the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.


8 a.m.: Breakfast, research posters on display
9 a.m. to noon: Flash talks; snapshots of our latest innovations, by leaders Stephen Kimmel, MD, MSCE (epidemiology), J. Richard Landis, PhD (biostatistics) and Jason Moore, PhD, FACMI (informatics)
Noon to 1 p.m.: Research posters and lunch
1 p.m.: “Mobile Health Innovations for Research, Prevention and Clinical Care," the  Brian L. Strom Visiting Professorship lecture by Dr. Michael V. McConnell, head of cardiovascular health innovations at Verily (formerly Google) Life Sciences and Clinical Professor at Stanford University. Dr. McConnell will speak to lessons learned via Stanford’s mobile health research and outline how interested investigators can use similar approaches.
