Gateway & Screening Testing
Until further notice, University surveillance testing protocols are being updated as follows:
- Faculty, staff, and postdocs are required to schedule and complete gateway testing at any point from September 7 until September 17. More information on how to schedule a test can be found in this scheduling tip sheet.
- Beginning September 13, a random sample of fully vaccinated staff, faculty, and post-docs will be selected and notified via email of their need to test. If notified, you will have two weeks to complete your test or you will receive a red pass in the PennOpen Pass system and will have to leave campus.
- Students, faculty, staff, and postdocs who have not yet reported being fully vaccinated must continue to test twice a week unless they submit vaccine documentation. After October 15, those who have been granted a medical or religious exemption from vaccination will be required to continue to test twice a week.
- Any member of the Penn community who wants to access a COVID screening test for any reason may participate in volunteer testing by scheduling a screening test.
