This course surveys the economics of the health care industry for students who want to better understand why health care functions the way that it does. We will examine critical economic issues including the underpinnings of health insurance, demand for medical care, the role of physicians in resource allocation, competition in health care markets, and health care regulation. And students will consider how multiple sectors impact health equity.
