This 6-week course pairs two 3-week topics. In Health Insurance and Benefit Design (Volpp), students will gain a deeper understanding of some of the tradeoffs inherent in the approaches insurers are taking to provide greater value and health improvement for their beneficiaries. In Driving Value in the System (Fleisher), students will engage in understanding the current goals of improving value—defined by quality over costs—in the health care system and drivers of improved value. (Full course descriptions.)
