Kissick Family Foundation Announces Funding Opportunity in FTD

Kissick Family Foundation Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Grant Program. In this inaugural cycle, the Request for Proposals (RFP) calls for basic science or early-stage translational research projects that focus on building a fundamental understanding of sporadic FTD. The Kissick Family Foundation, with guidance from the Milken Institute Science Philanthropy Accelerator for Research and Collaboration (MI-SPARC), welcomes research proposals requesting up to $500,000 over two years.

The Kissick Family Foundation aims to accelerate basic discoveries, expedite novel treatment options, and, ultimately, improve patient outcomes for people living with FTD. A broad range of projects are responsive to this call; for example, they may target the basic biology of the disease, develop and validate biomarkers that can be used to diagnose and track disease progression more effectively, or preclinically assess novel therapeutic targets, but all must focus on developing a fundamental understanding of sporadic forms of FTD. The fund builds on findings from the MI-SPARC FTD Giving Smarter Guide, published today with Kissick Family Foundation support.

The RFP is available on the Milken Institute’s website, with a one-page Letter of Intent due by Tuesday, December 12.

Full proposals for selected applicants will be due on February 23, 2024. On Wednesday, November 29, at 11 a.m. ET, we will host an informational webinar for potential applicants. Please register here to attend.
