Medical Student Government Seeking Faculty Advisor

PSOM’s Medical Student Government (MSG) is seeking two Faculty Advisors for four-year terms beginning Spring 2024. The role of Faculty Advisor is a volunteer service appointment.

MSG Faculty Advisors fill an incredibly important role as sounding boards, mentors, and student advocates. Faculty Advisors will work closely with the MSG Executive Board (a team of 5-7 students elected by the student body) and the MSG Leadership Team (elected representatives of each class and cultural affinity groups). We are especially interested in creative, diverse, and inclusive leadership.

The faculty advisor role is open to all interested PSOM faculty the selected applicants will be expected to attend UMELT and student leadership meetings averaging 1-2 per month. Faculty advisors should also be present for discussions leading to major MSG decisions and will have access to all relevant MSG documents and resources.

To apply, please email Carrie Renner, Director of Student Affairs, with a statement of interest including a description of values on leadership and mentorship. Please include a copy of your current CV, highlighting your medical education/mentorship experience.
