Now Accepting AOA Faculty Nominations

The Perelman School of Medicine is now accepting faculty nominations to its AΩA Chapter. If you are interested in nominating a current faculty member in your department email a one-page letter of support to jon.morris@pennmedicine.upenn.edu by Friday, November 15th. No other supporting information (nominee's CV, additional letters, etc) will be considered.

Each year, the PSOM AΩA chapter inducts residents, fellows and faculty, along with 1/6th of the graduating medical student class. The ideal nominees are those who have excelled in the criteria for nomination to AΩA membership—scholastic achievement, professionalism, leadership, community service, and research. Scholastic achievement refers to the qualities of becoming, and being, an excellent doctor—trustworthiness, character, caring, knowledge, skills, demeanor, proficiency of the doctor-patient relationship, promise of future leadership, decision-making, compassion, empathy, altruism, values of the profession, teamwork, life-long learning, and servant leadership. The current student AΩA chapter will be reviewing the nominees and may select up to five faculty members for induction.

If you are unsure of the current AΩA status of any faculty member, search the official directory using the “Locate a Member” function found here.

The selected faculty will be recognized at the Perelman School of Medicine AΩA Induction Ceremony on February 10th, 2020.
