Description: This course is for health care professionals who want to examine health disparities through a lens of population health, as well as explore health issues in low- to middle-income countries. This is a pairing of two 3-week course topics. In the first half taught by Dr. Lavizzo-Mourey, you will review causes of and policy approaches for health disparities and examine strategies for improving health equity through case studies and policy analysis. In the second half taught by Dr. Thirumurthy, you will apply an economics perspective to topics related to health in low- and middle-income countries and examine policy solutions to improving population health in these countries.
