Opportunity for Penn researchers - Spring SABV Intensive

Attention researchers! Penn PROMOTES Research on Sex and Gender in Health is announcing a special program for Spring 2021. We will be exploring the meaning and significance of Sex as a Biological Variable (SABV) in your research career, and discussing how to incorporate this into your grants, research protocols, and statistical analyses.

Please RSVP today to join us! We will be facilitating content around e-learning modules developed by the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health. Each week, you will be expected to have reviewed that week’s online curriculum and be prepared for discussion, bringing examples from your own work or your field of interest.

We have invited topic experts from UPenn to guide these discussions:

  • 4/5: SABV and the Health of Women and Men (Maria Oquendo, Chairman of Psychiatry)
  • 4/12: SABV and Research Reporting (Alison Buttenheim, Director of Engagement, Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics)
  • 4/19: SABV and Experimental Design (Kurt Barnhart, Vice Chair for Clinical Research, Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology)
  • 4/26: SABV and Analyses (Mary Putt, Professor of Biostatistics)

This program is open to researchers and graduate students with Penn affiliation. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
