Secretary Azar was the 24th U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. In this role, he oversaw a wide range of programs including Medicare, Medicaid, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institutes of Health. In this session, Penn Professor and LDI Fellow Kevin Volpp will discuss with him this range of responsibilities, highlighting what Secretary Azar is most proud of about his tenure at HHS and what he sees as important challenges ahead for the current and future administrations. Please come prepared with questions as we will devote a significant amount of time to Q and A with the audience.
