REMINDER: ART IN SCIENCE APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY MONDAY, JULY 9, 2018

Re:        Perelman School of Medicine Scientific Art Competition for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

I am pleased to announce the fifth annual Art in Science Competition at the Perelman School of Medicine. The competition’s goal is to raise awareness and bring exposure to the artistic merit of scientific images and interpretation. The competition is divided into two categories for judging: Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows. An award of $250 will be given to the best image in each category.

At this time, I invite you to encourage your students and trainees to forward images or illustrations for consideration to Kayvon Nikoo (kayvon@pennmedicine.upenn.edu).

Submissions should include the following information:

• Student / Postdoc name and/or names of research collaborators engaged in the study
• The title of the image
• A short description of the research finding associated with the image

All images must be submitted in one of the following formats: .jpg, .png, .ai, .psd. Resolution of the image must be at least 300 dpi with a higher resolution preferred.
