Spring 2018 Research Mentor Training with Emma Meagher, MD & Frank McGowan, MD

The Training

  • Based upon a proven-effective curriculum developed at the University of Wisconsin

  • Over 100 faculty at Penn have participated since 2012

  • Outstanding evaluations and recommendations for colleagues to participate

  • Interactive sessions designed to enhance skills in being an effective mentor

  • Opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues

  • Focuses on enhancing communication, aligning expectations, valuing diversity, fostering independence, promoting self-efficacy among mentees, and work/life integration

  • CME certified course eligible for up to 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

  • No cost to participants

  • Co-facilitated by Frank McGowan, MD and Emma Meagher, MD
     

Eligible Participants

  • Faculty at the “late” Assistant Professor (final 3 years of appointment) or higher rank

  • Actively mentoring research trainees

  • Must be able to commit to attendance at all five sessions

  • March 5, 19, April 9, 16, and 30 at 12:15 – 2:15 pm in 8030 Maloney, HUP
