Teaching Opportunity - Patient Safety Intersession

I’m one of the second year pulmonary fellows at Penn, and I’m hoping that you will volunteer to help to be a small group facilitator for the upcoming patient safety intersession course for medical students.

The Patient Safety Intersession day for the medical students is on Friday, October 8th.  Sessions will be held in the Jordan Medical Education Center, PCAM South Tower, 5th Floor

There will be a morning session from 9am-11am and an afternoon session from 2pm-4pm. You do not need to volunteer for both sessions (but if you are available for both, that would be great!)

The purpose of the intersession is to teach third year medical students about the basics of patient safety. As part of the curriculum, we will break students into small groups to work through a patient safety case, as well as to complete a root cause analysis.  Importantly, you do NOT need to be a patient safety expert to participate.  We will provide you with the content for the small groups as well as question prompts to help facilitate discussion.

If you are available to help, please fill out this survey indicating your availability to help in those sessions. (Full link here: https://upenn.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d4i6f93YYNK7opw)

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, and thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Zach
