Value and Quality in Health Care (HCIN6032-001)

Lee A. Fleisher, MD and Neha Patel, MD, MS

Innovations in health care have the potential to achieve efficiency, reduce health care costs, and ensure high-quality patient outcomes. But to achieve these goals, we must determine and adopt standards for health care quality and safety. Through lectures, interviews with national leaders, case studies, and hands-on practice, this course introduces students to quality improvement tools and measurement techniques that can help you address pressing opportunities for change. (Full Course Description)

Penn faculty and staff members are invited to take this 6-week long, online graduate course. Each week follows a pattern of asynchronous learning through brief videos, readings, written discussions with classmates, and real-world projects and assignments, plus a 1-hour synchronous class. Penn employees may use tuition benefits towards this course. This course is part of the Master of Health Care Innovation (MHCI) curriculum. A 4-course Certificate is available.
