Dr. Brod graduated from Penn undergrad (1983) and the MD program (1987) with a Master’s in Healthcare innovation in 2020.  His internship in Internal Medicine was at Rhode Island Hospital and residency in Dermatology was pursued at the University of Pittsburgh with a Chief Residency year at Pitt during his PGY-4 year.  Dr. Brod initially served at Hahnemann but came to the Perelman School of Medicine Department of Dermatology in 1998, also serving at Dermatology Associates of Lancaster from 1994-2017. 

Dr. Brod has had a national presence in CME since 2017 when he became a member of the Accreditation Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), becoming Chair in 2021.  He is also a member of the Joint Accreditation Review Committee (IPCE).

Dr. Brod is an award-winning dermatologist, receiving Presidential Citations from the AAD and/or ACDS, in 2010, 2013-2016, and 2019-2022. In 2014, he received the Dermatologist of the Year Award from PAD.

Dr. Brod has served as our Lead CME Peer Reviewer at our PSOM CME office since January 2021 and has been a key leader as we have transformed to a program that supports the needs of our clinicians and our interprofessional partners.
