We are pleased to announce that the University has been invited to nominate one candidate for the Agilent Early Career Professor Award. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) is managing the final candidate review and selection process. Each school within the University may submit the name of one candidate.
Program summary: The purpose of the Agilent Early Career Professor Award (AECPA) is to: promote and encourage research excellence on topics of importance to Agilent and the world; establish strong collaborative relationships with emerging academic leaders early in their career; and build the prominence of Agilent as a sponsor of university research.
Eligibility:

Must be a tenure-track assistant professor in your first tenure-track position. Research associates, research professors, adjunct professors, etc. are not eligible for this award.

Must have completed Ph.D. or M.D. residency within 12 years of award year. Agilent will consider eligibility extensions in certain circumstances - refer to the FAQ webpage for details.

Candidate's work must be aligned with the Focus Topic.

For any sponsored research projects, the applicant must be eligible to serve as Principal Investigator for the project, unless otherwise noted in the LSO. Please see Penn’s PI Eligibility requirements to ensure you are eligible.
Award information:
-
An unrestricted research award of $120,000 to be distributed in 2 years to a university in the professor’s name.

Option to use all or part of award to obtain Agilent products at 50% discount.

Option to accelerate payments for equipment with a list price over $120,000.

The winner will receive an engraved plaque commemorating award, presented in a suitable ceremony.

The winner is invited to make a presentation at an Agilent site (at Agilent’s expense).

Winner’s name, photo and research highlights will be featured on the AECPA website.
Selection:

Alignment with the 2024 Focus Topic: Contributions to environmental sustainability through development of green analytical technologies, methods, or laboratory working environments.

Significant original research contributions enabling solutions of importance to Agilent and the world (ref: sustainable lab solutions; my green lab)
-
Innovation and outstanding potential for future research contributions.
PSOM Application Requirements
To be considered, applicants must submit information in a single PDF in the following order:

Candidate name, department, address, phone, email, date of faculty appointment, track and rank

Date of completion of Ph.D. or M.D. residency (including month and year); please indicate if you anticipate requesting an eligibility extension (see FAQ webpage for details).

Section 2: Contributions related to the 2024 Focus Topic

CV (3 pages maximum)
Submission should be in a single pdf file in the following order: cover page, letter of intent, CV. The pdf document should be titled as follows: Agilent__InvestigatorSurname_Investigator first name. For example: Agilent_Doe_Jane.pdf.
